Below we’ve pulled together a list of all of the best Instagram photo hotspots in Bali.
It’s no surprise that Bali is one of our favourite places in the world, we’ve been three times now and never get bored!
There’s always something new to see and do each time we go and we’ve still only scratched the surface of this beautiful island.
It’s an Instagrammers dream and below we’ve listed a few spots to grab a cheeky shot!
One of the main things Bali is famous for is the vast amount of waterfalls!
There are so many beautiful ones in Bali it really is hard to choose.
Below is a summary of some of the best:
This waterfall is in the North of Bali and can be combined with a visit to Git Git Waterfall too.
It’s a huge waterfall (a collection of seven) and definitely one to make the effort to visit
This waterfall is also in the North, near Lovina.
It’s a twin waterfall and a lot less touristy than some of the others.
This waterfall can be found nestled in a cave and is definitely the most unique waterfall in Bali.
It’s best to head here around midday to catch those famous light rays flooding in!
A beautiful waterfall not far from Ubud.
Walk down a couple of hundred stairs to see this giant and be sure to check out the smaller waterfall on your way back up (shots below of both of these ones!)
Bali is very famous for its rice farming and everywhere you travel in Bali you are greeted with lush green paddies.
There are two places we recommend visiting to get that classic rice terrace Instagram shot!
Tegalalang Rice Terrace
Situated around 30 minutes from Ubud this green paradise is a must see.
Try and aim to get there for sunrise, not only will the sun rays start flooding in from behind the coconut trees but you’ll also have the place to yourself (almost!).
After around 8am the terraces start to get really busy with tourists who also want to get that Insta famous shot!
Jatiluwih Rice Terrace
This terrace is a little further north so a lot less touristy.
It’s a UNESCO world heritage site and utterly breath taking, definitely our favourite rice terrace in Bali!
Bali has a whole host of famous viewpoints to capture great shots for Instagram. Some of the best ones that we found are listed below!
This literally translates as ‘hill of love’ and it’s the perfect place to spend sunrise in Bali.
It’s on the East of Bali so it’s good to combine a visit here with some of the temples in the East too.
Set amongst the rice paddies and farms it has one of the best views of Mount Agung and if you get a clear morning the view will take your breath away!
Campuhan Ridge Walk
If you fancy a short trek with incredible hillside views then the ridge walk in Ubud is for you!
It’s a nine kilometre hill trek and you can grab a great photograph along any part of the pathway.
Temples and Bali Gates
Pura Lempuyang Temple
This temple is famous for its Bali Gate or ‘heavens door’ with an incredible view over Mount Agung too.
Although you may not realise this the gates are not actually surrounds by water!
These Insta-famous shots are created by a clever local man who places a mirror/ND Filter in front of your camera for you to give the illusion of water!!
Bali Gates at Handara Golf Resort
Probably one of the most photographed places in Bali, this hot spot is actually the entrance to a golf club!
Unfortunately this spot is now super touristy and they actually charge you a small fee to take a photo here!
Ulun Danu Batur
This temple is a Hindu temple and is dedicated to the goddess of the lake. It appears as though it is floating on the water and is usually surrounded by beautiful flowers and water Lillies.
Situated in Eastern Bali this former royal palace features a carp pond, water fountains and beautifully landscaped gardens.
This spot is famous for shots taken whilst feeding the fish in the pond, it may sound cheesy but it’s actually a really lovely experience and walking around the gardens is so peaceful!
We hope you’ve enjoyed this short guide to some of our favourite Instagram photo spots in Bali.
As we said at the beginning, this really is only scratching the surface of this beautiful island.
