This is our final instalment of our Marrakech series and we definitely feel we’ve saved the best to last.
This is an Instagram hot spot and a must-visit if you are planning a getaway to Marrakech.
From the outside it’s just a lonely door set down a dusty, pink-walled, back street. However, once you open the door you discover it’s a magical gateway to a slice of heaven amongst the hustle and bustle of the medina.
Upon arrival you are greeted by the friendliest staff and offered some refreshing juice to slurp by the plunge pool.
The turquoise pool takes centre stage in the courtyard garden, filled with pretty mosaic tiles, striking wall art, luscious green foliage and ornate furniture.
Riads are traditional Moroccan houses that host an interior garden or courtyard in the centre with many rooms laid out around it and often a terrace on the roof.
This Riad has a total of seven rooms, which is about average.
Riads are always open topped so you can follow the sun across the sky in the day and watch it turn from blue, to amber, and finally setting navy in the evenings.
After cooling our toes in the pool and washing off the remaining sand leftover from the desert, we were shown to our room.
It was everything we imagined, kitted out in true Moroccan style with Berber rugs, patterned flooring and grand arches.
The rooms were simple in design but simply breathtaking too.
Once we’d settled in we explored more of our temporary home, one of our favourite areas was the rooftop, it was a delight!
Lots of pretty festoon lights, lanterns and scatter cushions make it easy to nestle in for the evening whilst accompanied by a pot of mint tea.
From the rooftop you can hear the faint noise of the busy city beyond the vast walls, it’s a lovely way to reflect on your travels.
In the morning the breakfast is a triumph; freshly prepared pastries and breads accompanied by yoghurt, preserves and fresh fruit.
You can choose to eat in the small restaurant area or set yourself up beside the pool, we tried out both options on alternate mornings and both were great.
After breakfast it really is impossible not to slip yourself into the cooling water beside you, you almost forget there is still so much to explore outside in the red city.
During the day they leave out a fresh fruit bowl for you to enjoy and you may even get a visit from the house pet; Bowie!
What a cutie!
Le Riad Yasmine really is worth the hype, it’s easily bookable on the hotel website or through Airbnb, although it books up fast so be patient as you may have to wait a little.
It’s also super budget friendly too, we were so impressed with the B&B rates, especially considering the beautiful surroundings and the amazingly attentive staff to boot.
Le Riad Yasmine will definitely hold a special place in our hearts forever!
