Mykonos has always been on our bucket list so this year we decided to book a short four night break there for Daniel’s birthday.
When browsing different hotels and apartments we uncovered Rocabella, we instantly fell in love with its bohemian style and boutique feel so booked up fast.
On their website it says; ‘Rocabella was born to create a hip retreat haven, a home away from home, for real travellers seeking wanderlust and authentic experiences’ and we couldn’t agree more.
From the moment we arrived at Rocabella we really were ‘home’. The bright white and earthy tones were comforting but still sleek and stylish. The bohemian feel to the hotel suited us perfectly.
In total there are only 21 rooms at the hotel so from the moment you walk in your experience is really personalised and unique. We were instantly made to feel extremely welcome by all of the wonderful staff.
The lovely Margarita greeted us with a glass of champagne and educated us on the hotel, the island and all the must-see hots spots during our stay.
We booked a junior sea view suite with an outdoor spa bath and it did not disappoint.
The minimalist and effortless style had a certain charm about it, plus the added bonus of the jacuzzi on our private balcony and sun terrace was perfect.
Every morning they served the most delicious breakfast at Reeza Restaurant. And although the breakfast is included in the cost of the room booking it was anything but ordinary.
A wooden tray of delicious handmade pastries, cakes and bread are set down on your table as soon as you are seated along with unlimited amounts of freshly squeezed orange juice… delicious.
From the self service stations you can grab yourself Greek yoghurt with many variations of nut, berry and seed toppings.
A variety of different continental goodies like cereals, breads, cheeses and hams.
Plus the usually hot breakfast accompaniments like bacon, sausage and potatoes.
If that wasn’t enough they also have an a’la carte menu included with different egg orders, homemade Greek pie of the day and puddings!
If you visit you must try the Greek style scrambled eggs… we couldn’t get enough of them!
Breakfast is served by the pool and in the morning it’s the best part of the day. The sun has just risen but isn’t too hot, it’s the perfect temperature to nestle down into one of the cabanas overlooking the Aegean Sea or take a dip in the icy pool.
The attention to detail at Rocabella was incredible, when we arrived we were asked to pick a scent for our room and every evening during turn-down service they would light candles and oil burners.
Coming home from a long day exploring Mykonos to the scent of eucalyptus, lavender and orange filling your room was such a lovely touch.
But what impressed us the most at this boutique hotel was the attentive staff.
From the bar staff (who make the most amazing cocktails!) to the reception staff, they are all super friendly and will go out of their way to make your stay as special as possible.
It’s not often we say we’d return to a hotel twice, but in this case… where do we sign?!
