We’re so pleased and excited to finally be able to share with you our wedding day.
Daniel proposed in July 2015, if you haven’t read about our engagement in Ireland then take a look here.
As soon as he proposed we sat down to decide when and where we would get married. We both absolutely love winter and the festive period so it only felt right to get married at this time of year.
We searched locally to find the perfect venue which captured our love of nature and rustic charm but with a modern and elegant edge.
When we walked into Bassmead Manor Barns we both got butterflies and knew it was ‘the one’. We booked it there and then for the 19th November 2016… giving us 16 months for the all important planning.
Over the next few months on Wanderlust Us we will be featuring more about the wedding day, our homemade engagement shoot, the planning process and information on how we decided on our A-Team of suppliers. But for now we want to share with you our favourite wedding photographs from the big day and more about our photographer.
We had stumbled upon Dottie Photography‘s work well before Daniel even proposed and knew that when the day came for us to get married, only Mandy would do!
She captured the day so perfectly and was an absolute joy to have around. She made us feel completely relaxed and all of our favourite memories from the wedding day include Mandy and Julie (her co-photographer) who both kept us laughing until the very end of the evening.
Mandy is an absolute perfectionist and really has an amazing eye for detail.
Her passion for photography shines through and she works extremely hard to ensure she gets the perfect shot, every time!
We received a total of 1,600 photographs after the wedding, of which we had around 80 fully edited and touched up the ‘Dottie way’, which we’re sharing with you today.
Although the edited ones are immaculate the non-edited ones are all perfect too. We couldn’t have asked for anything more.
For us getting the right photographer was one of the most important elements of the planning process. We will cherish these photographs for the rest of our life and ensuring every moment of the day was captured perfectly was super important to us.
We handmade a lot of the smaller details of the day and Mandy took time to capture them all perfectly.
Mandy isn’t just a photographer… she is also now a friend. Since the wedding day she has been in contact numerous times and even invited us round for a BBQ later this year (we can’t wait!).
If you are looking for a wedding day photographer, who has perfected the balance of traditional photography with a vintage and glamorous edge, then look no further than Dottie Photography. We honestly couldn’t recommend Mandy and the team more.
Alongside Mandy we also booked Jake from Red Crow Video Production to capture the day on film for us.
So grab a cup of tea and settle down to watch our wedding video. We can’t wait to share more details of our special day with you over the following months.
